Carlos and Francisca are customers at the Restaurante Teide in Tenerife, Canary Islands.

Carlos	Buenas noches. Queremos una mesa para dos.	Good evening. We want a table for two.
Camarero	¿Quieren sentarse en ésa del rincón?	Do you want to sit in that one in the corner?
Carlos	Sí, está bien.	Yes, it is fine.
Camarero	Un momento, que les traigo la carta. (He brings the menu.) Aquí la tienen. Vuelvo en seguida.	One moment, that I may bring you the menu. Here you have it. I shall return right away.
Carlos and Francisca decide what they want to eat.
Camarero	¿Qué van a tomar?	What are you going to eat?
Francisca	Yo quiero sopa de pescado y de segundo, chuletas de cerdo con papas fritas.	I want fish soup and for seconds, pork chops with fried potatoes.
Camarero	¿Va a tomar ensalada?	Are you going to have a salad?
Carlos	Sí, tráigame una ensalada mixta.	Yes, bring me a mixed salad?
Camarero	¿Y para Ud., señor?	And for you sir?
Carlos	Para mí, una tortilla a la española.	For me, a Spanish tortilla.
Camarero	¿Y de segundo?	And for seconds?
Francisca	De segundo quiero arroz con pollo.	For seconds I want Chicken with rice.
Carlos	¿Van a beber algo?	Are you going to drink something?
Camarero	Un agua mineral para mí.	One mineral water for me.
Francisca	¿Con gas or sin gas?	Carbonated or without carbonation?
Camarero	Con gas.	Carbonated.
Francisca	A mí tráigame una cerveza.	Bring me a beer.
