El Ecuador está en el oeste de Ameríca del Sur. El Ecuador limita al norte con Colombia, al este y al sur con el Perú y al oeste con el Océano Pacífico. Tiene una superficie de 283,560 kiló ;metros cuadrados y su población es de 11,000,000 de habitantes. De ellos, el 25 por ciento son indígenas, el 55 por ciento son mestizo, el 10 por ciento europeos y el 10 por ciento negros y asiáticos.
La capital del Ecuador es Quito, que tiene una población de 1,100,000 habitantes. La ciudad se encuentra a una altitud de 2850 metros sobre el nivel del mar y tiene un clima templado, con una temperatura media de 13 grados centígrados (56 grados Fahrenheit).
Ecuador is in the west of South America. Ecuador is bordered to the north with Colombia, to the east and to the south with Peru and to the west with the Pacific Ocean. It has an area of 283,560 square kilometers and its population is of 1 1,000,000 inhabitants. Of them, 25 percent are Indigenous, 55 percent are Mestizo, 10 percent European, 10 percent Negroes and Asians.
