FIN 599 - Financial Management Foundations
This course
provides MBA students with a smooth transition into the economics and
financial aspects of the MBA curriculum. It provides basic economics
background on both Micro and Macro levels where price system, cost
structure and stabilization economic polices and their implications in the
corporate world are analyzed. Special emphasis is placed on the financial
environment, especially financial markets and market participants. The
course also analyzes corporate financial performance through financial
statements and financial ratios. Students are introduced to evaluating
cash flow over time and to the basic models of evaluating financial
securities. In addition, basic analysis of investment projects evaluation
is included.
MAT 598 - Quantitative Business
Foundations
This course is designed
to improve the quantitative abilities of students starting the MBA
program. Functions, solving systems of equations, introduction to linear
programming, differential calculus, descriptive statistics, and the use of
a graphing calculator and an electronic spreadsheet in the solution of
business problems will be covered. |
