WESTMINSTER, MD (September 11, 2004)– The Goldey-Beacom College men’s and women’s cross country team’s captured seventh place at the 2004 Terror Cross Country Challenge at McDaniel College Saturday afternoon in Maryland.

 

The Lightning women finished with a total of 201 points, which placed them behind Muhlenberg (45 points), Gettysburg (48 points), Franklin & Marshall College (61 points), McDaniel College (76 points), York College (139 points) and Hood College (160). The men, meanwhile, posted 163 points to finish ahead of Hood College (225 points) and behind Muhlenberg (34 points), Gettysburg (61 points), Franklin & Marshall College (68 points), McDaniel College (111 points), York College (140 points), and Maryland Track Club (159).

 

Freshman Katie Lewis (Newark, DE) posted the best time of the day for the Lightning in the women’s 6K run, finishing in 31st with a time of 27:53.71. Freshman Jessica Kaszetta (Wilmington, DE) was next for Goldey-Beacom in 41st place at 28:52.60, followed by junior Brandy Ash (Dagsboro, DE) in 65th place at 33:12.87, junior Lu Lu Maseko (Swaizieland) in 71st at 38:34.76, and senior Nonny Maseko (Swaizieland) in 72nd at 38:55.66.

 

In the men’s 8K race, junior Brad Paski (Wilmington, DE) posted the best time for Goldey-Beacom at 29:30, which placed him 25th overall. Other finishers included sophomore Matt Lang (Chestertown, MD) in 31st place at 30:21, sophomore Mickey Jones (Newark, DE) in 33rd place at 30:22, sophomore Brian Kirk (Wilmington, DE) in 48th place at 32:04 and junior Chip Lewis (Newark, DE) in 51st place at 32:18.

 

The Lightning return to action September 18 when they compete at the Baptist Bible Fall Challenge.
