INDIANA, PA (November 6, 2004) – The Goldey-Beacom College men’s cross country team finished in 20th place while the women finished 25th Saturday afternoon at the 2004 NCAA Regionals at Indiana University in Pennsylvania.

 

Lock Haven (36 points) captured the men’s team title while Edinboro (30 points) took home the women’s crown. Individually, Ryan Coon of Edinboro (31:41) and Julie Nemergut (20:29) won the individual crowns.

 

Sophomore Matt Lang (Chestertown, MD) was the top finisher for the Lightning men, placing 87th with a time of 36:14 in the 8K race. Junior Brad Paski (Wilmington, DE) was next in 103rd place at 36:57, followed by sophomore Brian Kirk (Wilmington, DE) in 119th place at 37:48, sophomore Mickey Jones (Newark, DE) in 120th place at 37:50 and Adin ‘Chip’ Lewis (Newark, DE) in 134th place at 38:33.

 

On the women’s side, freshman Katie Lewis (Newark, DE) set a new school record with a time of 25:44 in the 5K race, placing her 109th overall. Freshman Jessica Kaszeta (Wilmington, DE) was next in 131st place at 27:13, followed by junior Brandy Ash (Dagsboro, DE) in 155th place at 32:11, junior Lungile Maseko (Swaziland) in 156th place at 33:19 and senior Nonhlanhla Maseko (Swaziland) in 157th place at 35:17.
