WILMINGTON, DE (November 9, 2004) – Jessica Zanotti had 15 kills and Stephanie
Attinelly added 14 kills and No. 6 Dominican College stunned No. 3
Goldey-Beacom College, 3-0, Tuesday night in first round action of the 2004
Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference tournament at MBNA America Hall.
The win
sends the Chargers (9-21, 8-12 CACC) into the semifinals where they will face
No. 2 Teikyo Post Friday at 7 p.m. at the Hennessy
Center on the campus of Dominican College. The Lightning, meanwhile, fall
to 18-14 and 15-5 in conference play.
Freshman Adrienne Melvin (Newark, DE)
posted her fifth ‘triple-double’ of the season for the Lightning, posting 19
kills, 21 assists and 20 digs. Junior Andrea
Connor (Blandon, PA) also played well for Goldey-Beacom,
adding 19 assists and nine digs.
