RUTHERFORD, NJ (October 2, 2004) – The Goldey-Beacom College volleyball team defeated Felician College, 3-0, and Georgian Court College, 3-1, in a tri-match at Georgian Court College Saturday afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action.

The Lightning (8-6, 7-3 CACC) extended their winning streak to five games and have just one loss in their last eight matches. Goldey-Beacom downed Felician 30-11 in game one, 30-14 in game two, and 30-13 in game three. Against Georgian Court, the Lightning won game one, 30-22, before dropping game two, 30-17. They rebounded to win game three 31-29 and four 30-21 to cap the afternoon.

Junior Norah Burdette (Ellicott City, MD) led the offense against Felician, posting 14 kills while freshman Adrienne Melvin (Newark, DE) notched eight kills and seven assist.

In the nightcap, Burdette again led the attack with 13 kills while freshman Kendra Russell (New Castle, DE) had 11 and Melvin 10.

The Lightning return to action this Tuesday when they travel to Pennsylvania to take on Philadelphia University at 4:30 p.m.
