BOWIE, MD (October 8, 2004) – Freshman Adrienne Melvin (Newark, DE) had eight kills and 11 digs as Goldey-Beacom College shut out Bowie State, 3-0, in non-conference volleyball action Thursday night in Maryland.

The Lightning won game one 30-23, game two 30-14, and game three 30-18 to improved to 9-7 on the season.

Junior Norah Burdette (Ellicott City, MD) and freshman Kendra Russell (New Castle, DE) each posted seven kills as the Lightning won for the sixth time in their last seven games.

Goldey-Beacom College returns to action Saturday afternoon with a road tri-match against Teikyo Post and Georgian Court.
