WATERBURY, CT (April 9, 2005) – The Goldey-Beacom College softball
team lost a pair of games at Post University on Saturday afternoon, losing 2-1
in game one before suffering a 1-0 loss in eight innings in game two in Central
Atlantic Collegiate Conference action in Connecticut.
Megan
Pappas belted a two run home run in game one to account for the Eagles (8-8,
4-2 CACC) runs and picked up the win in game two, hurling eight shutout innings
while allowing just two hits and striking out two. Vanessa Lagares doubled home
Emily Allison in the bottom of the eighth inning in game two to give Post the
win.
Sophomore Sarah Gehman (King of
Prussia, PA) singled home
freshman Megan Harper (Acto, NJ)
for the lone Lightning run on the afternoon.
Senior Tiffany Frick (Pennsauken,
NJ) and freshman Kendra Russell (New Castle,
DE) combined to allow just
four hits for Goldey-Beacom in game one while Russell allowed four hits and an
unearned run in game two.
