NYACK, NY (May 3, 2005) – Senior Tiffany Frick (Pennsauken, NJ) notched her eighth and ninth wins of the season and also hit her first home run of the year as the Goldey-Beacom College softball team closed the regular season with a doubleheader sweep of Nyack College, winning game one 9-4 and game two 5-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action Tuesday afternoon in New York.

Frick finished game one 3-for-4 from the plate with three RBI while senior Holly Kimble (Millsboro, DE) also drove in three runs as the Lightning (24-16, 12-8 CACC) rallied from a 3-2 deficit in the top of the fifth, scoring seven unanswered runs to secure the win.

In game two, freshman Kendra Russell (New Castle, DE) and classmate Megan Harper (Atco, NJ) each drove in a pair of runs and junior Lori Knabb (Paulsboro, NJ) went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Frick allowed three hits and two runs in the opener in 5.1 IP, striking out three. She followed with a compete game, two-hit shutout in the nightcap and now stands at 9-9 on the season.

The Lightning will open play in the 2005 CACC Tournament at Caldwell College on Friday riding an eight-game winning streak. Their opponent is TBD.
