WILMINGTON, DE (March 30, 2005) – Freshman Megan Harper (Atco, NJ) singled home senior Devon O’Brien (Wilmington, DE) in the bottom of the ninth to give
Goldey-Beacom College a 1-0 win in game two and salvage a split of Wednesday
afternoon’s Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader with Felician
College at the GBC Softball Complex.
Lightning
freshman Kendra Russell (New Castle, DE)
picked up her third win of the season in the nightcap, tossing eight shutout
innings while striking out seven. She also hurled the last four innings of game
one after relieving senior Tiffany Frick
(Pennsauken, NJ), who was chased after allowing six
hits and two runs in three innings of work.
Felician College opened the twin bill with a 3-1 win
behind RBI doubles from Christina Rey and Holly VanDyke in the second inning
and an RBI single from Nicole Renzi in the seventh.
Felician College’s Jennifer Barnes picked up the win
in game one, allowing seven hits and one run while Jackie Scarpari took the
loss in game two, allowing one run on two hits while striking out two in 8.1
innings.
