MIDDLETOWN, DE (September 30, 2004) – The Goldey-Beacom College golf team defeated Wilmington College and University of the Sciences in Pennsylvania Monday afternoon at Frog Hollow Golf Club.

 

The defending Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference champion Lightning posted a combined score of 320, which was 25 strokes fewer than the Wildcats, who posted a 345 on the afternoon. USP finished in third with a score of 404.

 

Goldey-Beacom College featured the top five scorers at the event, led by junior Mike Tobiason (Wilmington, DE), who posted a score of 78. He was followed in second place by junior Nick Nardo (Newark, DE) with a score of 80 while freshman Mark Agnew (Newark, DE) and sophomore Dave Pfotzer (Newark, DE) finished tied for third at 81. Senior Chris Ciupinski (Ocean Township, NJ) finished in a tie for fifth place with Cameron Shafer of Wilmington College with a score of 82.

 

The golf team returns to action this weekend when they compete at the ECAC Championships at LeMoyne College, beginning Friday afternoon.
