Admissions Procedures for Transfer Students

You can visit with us at any time for an informal evaluation of your completed college coursework – prior to actually applying!  Contact our Admissions Office and schedule an appointment, campus tour, and a same-day review of your transcripts.

Transfer credits are granted for courses taken at other regionally accredited institutions which meet the following criteria:

  •  They apply to the student’s degree program at GBC.

  • The courses were taken within a reasonable timeframe (usually the past ten years).

  • The student earned a grade of “C” or better in the class.

  • The courses were credit-bearing, non-developmental classes.

While the College can conduct an informal assessment of your credits, an official transcript is required before the transfer of credits can be finalized. Once the transcript has been received, the approved credits will be transferred to the student’s permanent record at Goldey-Beacom College.  Grades earned elsewhere are not calculated in the student’s cumulative grade point index, which reflects only the courses completed at GBC.

Advanced Placement (AP) and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) credits may also be accepted for transfer provided above-average grades have been earned, and the subject matter is appropriate for the program of study being pursued.  The College has a transfer agreement with the Center for Financial Training (CFT), previously known as the American Institute of Banking (AIB), to transfer appropriate credits.

To simplify the transfer process, and maximize accepted credits, Goldey-Beacom College has established articulation agreements with many regional community colleges.  A partial list includes:

  • Cecil Community College

  • Cumberland County College

  • Delaware Technical and Community College

  • Gloucester County College

  • Harcum College

  • Pennsylvania Institute of Technology

  • Salem County Community College

Once students have matriculated at Goldey-Beacom College, they are expected to complete all remaining credits at the College.

To complete the application process for transfer, students must provide the following to the Admissions Office:

  1. An official copy of the high school transcript or Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED). High school verification or GED is not required if 24 transferable credits are earned at an accredited institution.
  2. Official transcripts for all previously completed college work at other institutions.
  3. Appointments may be made with the Admissions Office between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Fridays; or on selected Saturdays.
