Financial Aid

The following scholarships are available to Undergraduate international students toward tuition and housing expenses. All candidates must be entering an Associate or Bachelor of Science degree program. The scholarship application deadlines are June 1, 2006 for applicants interested in the Fall 2006 semester and October 1, 2006 for applicants interested in the Spring 2007 semester.

Joseph W. Jones Academic Scholarship

*** You will be required to earn a minimum of 30 credits each academic year, maintain a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA, and adhere to the Respectful Learning Environment policies.

$ 4,600 per year tuition scholarship, renewable for up to three years.

Candidates must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and score of 1100+ on the SAT and 575+ on the TOEFL (233 CBT)

Academic Recognition Scholarship

*** You will be required to earn a minimum of 30 credits each academic year, maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA, and adhere to the Respectful Learning Environment policies.

$ 3,800 per year tuition scholarship, renewable for up to three years.

 

Candidates must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 and score of 1000-1099 on the SAT and 550+ on the TOEFL (213 CBT)

 

Institutional Scholarship

*** You will be required to earn a minimum of 30 credits each academic year, maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA, and adhere to the Respectful Learning Environment policies.

$ 2,300 per year tuition scholarship, renewable for up to three years.

Candidates must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 and score of 950-999 on the SAT and 525+ on the TOEFL (197 CBT)

Housing Scholarship

*** You will be required to earn a minimum of 30 credits each academic year, maintain a minimum 2.00 cumulative GPA, adhere to the Respectful Learning Environment policies, and Housing Guidelines. Candidates must live on-campus during the academic year (an academic year consists of the fall and spring semesters).

$ 1,000 on-campus housing scholarship, renewable for up to three years.

Candidates must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.00.

Enrique Pineiro Scholarship

$ 1,000 per year tuition scholarship, renewable for up to one year.

Candidates must be an AS graduate of ICPR Junior College; be good citizens; be recommended by either the ICPR Junior College President & CEO or a Campus Director; and enrolled in a bachelor degree program.

Athletic Scholarships

*** You will be required to try out for the team each year.

$ 500-4,000 renewable scholarship awards.

Candidates must be eligible to play sports through the NCAA Clearing House (www.NCAAClearinghouse.net). Additional criteria will be determined by the Coaches and Athletic Department of Goldey-Beacom College.

University of Delaware ELI Academic Scholarship

 *** You will be required to earn a minimum of 30 credits each academic year, maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA, and adhere to the Respectful Learning Environment policies.

$ 3,000 per year tuition scholarship, renewable for up to three years.

 

Candidates must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and satisfactorily completed Academic Track Level  VI with a grade of B or higher.  Candidates must also provide a letter of recommendation from their academic instructor.

 

University of Delaware ELI Scholarship 

*** You will be required to earn a minimum of 30 credits each academic year, maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA, and adhere to the Respectful Learning Environment policies.

$ 2,000 per year tuition scholarship, renewable for up to three years.

 

Candidates must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 and satisfactorily completed Academic Track Level V with a grade of B or higher.  Candidates must also provide a letter of recommendation from their academic instructor.

Delaware Tech ESL Academic Scholarship 

*** You will be required to earn a minimum of 30 credits each academic year, maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA, and adhere to the Respectful Learning Environment policies.

$ 3,000 per year tuition scholarship, renewable for up to three years.

 

Candidates must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and satisfactorily completed Level 101 with a grade of B or higher.  Candidates must also provide a letter of recommendation from their academic instructor.

Delaware Tech ESL Scholarship

*** You will be required to earn a minimum of 30 credits each academic year, maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA, and adhere to the Respectful Learning Environment policies.

$ 2,000 per year tuition scholarship, renewable for up to three years.

 

Candidates must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 and satisfactorily completed Level 100 with a grade of B or higher.  Candidates must also provide a letter of recommendation from their academic instructor.

Pennsylvania Language Institute (PLI) Academic Scholarship

*** You will be required to earn a minimum of 30 credits each academic year, maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA, and adhere to the Respectful Learning Environment policies.

$ 3,000 per year tuition scholarship, renewable for up to three years.

 

Candidates must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and satisfactorily completed Intensive English Level 9.  Candidates must also provide a letter of recommendation from their academic instructor.

 

Pennsylvania Language Institute (PLI) Scholarship

*** You will be required to earn a minimum of 30 credits each academic year, maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA, and adhere to the Respectful Learning Environment policies.

$ 2,000 per year tuition scholarship, renewable for up to three years.

 

Candidates must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 and satisfactorily completed satisfactorily completed Intensive English Level 8.  Candidates must also provide a letter of recommendation from their academic instructor.

Drexel University ELC Academic Scholarship 

*** You will be required to earn a minimum of 30 credits each academic year, maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA, and adhere to the Respectful Learning Environment policies.

$ 3,000 per year tuition scholarship, renewable for up to three years.

 

Candidates must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and satisfactorily completed Academic Track Level VI with a grade of B or higher.  Candidates must also provide a letter of recommendation from their academic instructor.

 

Drexel University ELC Scholarship

*** You will be required to earn a minimum of 30 credits each academic year, maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA, and adhere to the Respectful Learning Environment policies.

$ 2,000 per year tuition scholarship, renewable for up to three years. Candidates must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 and satisfactorily completed Academic Track Level V with a grade of B or higher.  Candidates must also provide a letter of recommendation from their academic instructor.

St. Joseph’s University ELS Academic Scholarship

*** You will be required to earn a minimum of 30 credits each academic year, maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA, and adhere to the Respectful Learning Environment policies.

$ 3,000 per year tuition scholarship, renewable for up to three years.

Candidates must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and satisfactorily completed Intensive English Level 111 or 112.  Candidates must also provide a letter of recommendation from their academic instructor.

 

St. Joseph’s University ELS Scholarship

*** You will be required to earn a minimum of 30 credits each academic year, maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA, and adhere to the Respectful Learning Environment policies.

$ 2,000 per year tuition scholarship, renewable for up to three years.

 

Candidates must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 and satisfactorily completed Intensive English Level 109.  Candidates must also provide a letter of recommendation from their academic instructor.

** Off-campus jobs, in accordance with Federal Immigration Rules and Regulations, will be available after the completion of the first academic year of education.


Scholarship application procedures

  1. Entering students who are interested in applying for scholarships must submit an application, official high school/university transcripts, TOEFL/SAT scores, and a financial certificate - signed and notarized by your sponsor. Students must be accepted to the College prior to the deadlines listed above.
  2. To apply for these scholarships, students must submit the following to the International Scholarship Committee prior to the deadlines listed above:
    • submit a completed scholarship application
    • submit 2 letters of recommendation
    • meet the scholarship requirements indicated for those scholarships for which you apply
  3. You must be enroll full-time (12+ credits) during each academic year.
  4. Scholarships that are awarded for more than one academic year are renewable based on the student maintaining 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average and the successful completion of 34 credits at the end of each academic year.
  5. The scholarships are applicable to the fall and spring semesters only.
