GBC Student Accounts

Several GBC network accounts are created for students when they start their education at Goldey-Beacom College.  These accounts include:  E-mail, Blackboard, Campus Web and NetPartner (if the student is receiving financial aid).  They are available for use throughout the student's entire college career at GBC.  Accounts are closed approximately six months after the last semester of attendance.  Students should create their own account for the gbcALERT messaging system.

E-mail

An e-mail account is established for every new student prior to the beginning of each session.  Students are e-mailed their username and password and can access the GBC mail server using the URL of https://mail01.gbc.edu/exchange.  Usernames and passwords may also be obtained from a lab assistant in the Academic Computing Center.  E-mail serves as the official means of sending information to students by faculty and staff.  These messages are sent to the GBC e-mail address.  Please refer to the policies on the required use of the GBC e-mail account.  Outlook web displays an error message of 'Page not found' and will not open e-mail messages which contain excessive punctuation in the subject line.  See the FAQs for information on how to work around this problem.  For other account questions/problems, please call the Academic Computing Center at 302-225-6277 or stop by the Center to speak with a lab assistant.

Blackboard

This server is used by many faculty to web enhance their courses.  Blackboard provides access to course syllabi, assignments, the ability to e-mail classmates and faculty, take tests, and see course-related grades.  Students can access the Goldey-Beacom Blackboard Server using the URL of http://juno.gbc.edu/.  The username and password are the same as listed above for the e-mail account.  Since this is a separate server from the e-mail account, it is recommended that the password be changed after signon by clicking on Personal Information and then change password.  Courses are populated by the OIT with student's names the day before it begins.  If a student drops or adds a course once it has started, the addition/deletion is made by the course instructor.  Students are removed from courses anytime after 60 days of the end of the semester.  A 'Forgot your password?' link is provided within the Blackboard login box.  This will e-mail a temporary password to the GBC e-mail account.  For other general questions about using Blackboard, please call the Academic Computing Center at 302-225-6277 or stop by the Center and a lab assistant will assist.

All students are automatically enrolled in the 'GBC Community Board' class.  General information and announcements are posted in this area.  Detailed information on how to change GBC network passwords is located under the "Documents" section of this class.

Campus Web

A comprehensive portal solution called Internet Campus Solution (ICS) provides students with access to their schedules, course offerings, grade reports, unofficial transcripts, aims (majors) with a complete listing of requirements met and unmet, student finances, online payments, and more.  The username and password are the same as listed above for the e-mail account. Students may access the portal at the URL of https://campusweb.gbc.edu/ics.  Click the 'I forgot my password' link to have a temporary one sent to the GBC e-mail account.  Additional instructions are posted within the 'GBC Community Board' class, 'Documents' section on Blackboard.

NetPartner

This site allows students to access financial aid data including the status of the student's financial aid package for a particular academic year, the amounts of individual financial aid awards, and information on loan disbursements and loan history. The username and password for this system is provided the student's advisor in the GBC FA/Advisement Office.  Students may access NetPartner using the URL of https://campusweb.gbc.edu/netpartnerstudent

gbcALERT

gbcALERT is used to notify students about emergencies, weather cancellations/delays, and other updates through text messaging and/or e-mail. Students must sign up for this service to receive any or all of these notifications. The service is aimed at improving safety on campus and enables the College to provide a rapid delivery method for important messages.  Sign up here.
